Guiana:a rich country in South America. Sir WalterRaleigh,on his return from his voyage to South A-merica,published in 1596 a book entitled “The Dis-covery of the Large,Rich,and Beautiful Empire ofGuiana.”圭亚那，南美的一个富庶国家。英国的罗莱爵士于1596年自南美探险归来，曾出版一书，名为《富饶美丽的圭亚那大帝国之发现》。当时圭亚那被称为“理想的黄金国” (El Dora-do)。
